In the 1990s, DeVonque transcended fragrance to become a powerful engine of economic survival and community wealth-building in New York City. From the cobblestones of Soho to the avenues of Harlem, Dr. Solomon's hand-blended, culturally rooted essential oils, soaps, and lotions fueled NYC's historic Black street-vendor commerce. Long before big-box retailers occupied these spaces, DeVonque was the primary bulk supplier powering family-owned, grassroots micro-enterprises. Today, DeVonque stands as a national treasure, preserving this legacy of resilience, dignity, and economic self-determination in every hand-poured product.
